Break in Packs

Teams that work in packs are harder to play against than teams that leave players isolated.

This simple drill reinforces the idea of breaking in packs, both out of defence and when in the attacking 3rd of the field.

The players receiving the ball on the way in must ensure that they are moving together and timing their runs perfectly, as it is here that the play can break down

The coach should emphasise the point that once a player breaks forward , they will always need at least oneĀ player following them for future support, and players should make their runs in anticipation of this.

The drill can be advanced to finish with a score on the way in.
