This game works specifically on the point of transition where the attack breaks down. It is at this point players can switch off, resulting in either the defence working the ball out quickly and easily, or the attack – re-turning the ball over for an easy score.

The team that gains possession have 8 seconds to work the ball out past any of the 3 cones on the opposite side, the other team have 8 seconds to get a turnover, or at least prevent them from getting out.

Once the play breaks finishes, both teams do set up again on the opposite side. The game continues like this for a set period of time.

2 points are awarded if the defending team get a turnover
1 point is awarded if the defending team prevent the team in possession from getting out in the 8 seconds
1 point is awarded if the team in possession work it out past any cone
